Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between assisted living and skilled nursing?

  • Assisted living homes offer daily living support and supervision, not medical care. If your loved one needs injections, wound management, or other nursing services, those services are found within a skilled nursing setting.

What services and amenities are included?

  • Meals, hygiene products, and assistance with daily tasks are all included in our monthly rate. Medications, salon and podiatry services are facilitated by our home but are paid for through insurance or resident funds.

What types of medical support and emergency care are available?

  • We provide access to on-site medical staff, medication management, and emergency call systems as needed.

How much does residential assisted living cost, and what payment options are available?

  • Costs for assisted living ranges drastically. Colorado assisted living averages anywhere from $4K to well above $20K per month. Most fees are paid through private pay and long-term care insurance. We do not accept Medicaid as that requires special licensing. Medicare covers medical care and does not cover the costs of assisted living.

What types of activities and social programs are offered to residents?

  • We offer a vibrant social environment, activity schedule, and opportunities for residents to stay active and engaged. We have local performers, musicians, and artists who provide various monthly activities to keep residents engaged. Please ask our administrator for our engagement calendar for more details.

Can dietary preferences or restrictions be accommodated?

  • Our priority is to provide nutritious meals and meal quality, customization, and availability to unique dietary options. We understand the importance of food and how that impacts a person’s overall health and well-being. You will work with the administrator to tailor meals if necessary.

What is the staff-to-resident ratio, and how are staff members trained?

  • State regulations for caregiver-to-resident ratios are 1:10, and 1:8 is the norm for most homes; we have higher standards of 1:5. We value our residents receiving exceptional care through high staff-to-resident ratios.

Can residents bring personal furniture or decorate their living space?

  • We want residents to feel that their space feels like home. We encourage bringing in personal belongings or making decorative choices. We also want families to feel welcome when visiting, so we appreciate items from home for reminiscing and helping everyone feel comfortable.

Are visitors allowed, and what are the visitation policies?

  • We understand the importance of meaningful connections and encourage visitors, family, and friends to visit our community.

How does the facility handle transitions to higher levels of care if needed?

  • We are here to support residents as their needs change. Our caregivers are trained to report changes, notify families, and collaborate with therapy and hospice services for seamless care during times of transition.
